Writing while teaching is a challenge. Needless to say, not a lot of writing has happened since I re-entered the classroom once more.
However, a sentence here, a sentence there, and The Yorkville Stories is coming together. A collection that gives several background characters from One Way to Whitefish their moment in the spotlight, The Yorkville Stories continues to travel back in time to the old neighborhood where mom-and-pop shops lined the blocks and lots of lovely languages were heard, from Hungarian and Czech, to Russian and German.
The best part? Don and Allison, the stars of Whitefish, return from Montana and Ireland and their story continues. One dear reader “wanted more”, a comment that is now familiar to me.
Hmmm…perhaps another novella?
